Account Director

Working closely with the Operations team, the Digital team and the Global Account Management team, the focus of the AD is to oversee the Market Delivery Team, with shared responsibility of management of approximately 20+ heads, providing leadership, issue resolution, support and training where needed. Operating as the main point of contact within the agency for all queries relating to Land Rover and Jaguar’s key markets in addition to ensuring the team deliver all projects, both print and digital, against identified milestones. This role is pivotal to our internal global organization and the dedicated Markets are the Client-base. This is a truly global position and requires someone who can manage expectations, deliver projects against timelines and communicate effectively.



Main Responsibilities 

Manage and Lead the market team

Work alongside the existing Account Director to lead, mentor, assist and support a growing market team

Become a market specialist and gain a thorough understanding of their needs/concerns and how Spark44 BHX can resolve identified issues

Work closely with other Spark44 offices to establish how we can deliver projects more effectively and build strong relationships with the local Spark44 offices

Build strong and robust global and local client relationships

Working with the Operations Planning in order to establish and manage project plans to deliver on time across all markets

Oversee timing plans and ensure resource is scheduled in adequately

Oversee production and delivery of assets for projects, from a global master in English to market specific versions in language across both digital and print

Assist in training of new staff within the Market Delivery team

Ensure the team understand and implement WoW and work collaboratively with the agency

Ensure the team QC and all approval routes are followed before any work is released

Recruitment and people management  Lead status meetings with the global and market clients


Ownership for market delivery of programmes spanning multiple workstreams

Manage project milestones and deliverables in accordance with the Way of Working

Lead Market status meetings with the Global Client

Lead, manage and mentor the team, ensuring appraisals are completed on time


Collaborate with internal Spark teams and the external client partners to resolve any issues that pertain to production scheduling, reviews, or asset delivery throughout the project

Develop and maintain strong working relationships internally, working closely and complimentarily with Account Management, Digital, Production and Creative

Stakeholder management - developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Land Rover and Jaguar both Globally and at a Market level

Ensure the teams work is ready for client review based on schedules

Support the team in the management of internal and client reviews until final approval

Ensure agency compliance with client policies

Ensure that current approved projects are tracked and filed appropriately

Support the team managing final invoices/billing and closing of projects with Finance



Ensure there is clear and regular communication to the clients of any changes to process, project updates and team updates

Ensure there is clear and regular communication with local Spark colleagues with client updates, process updates and team updates

Manage project milestones and deliverables in accordance with the Way of Working

Cascade information down to the team appropriately 

Person Specifications, Qualifications & Skills 

Proven digital and print experience

Strong Client services experience

Strong Management experience

Proven project management experience

Self-starter with the ability to work without supervision

Ability to manage and prioritise a complex and varied workload

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Ability to communicate effectively with a range of client audiences

Passionate about getting others involved and having fun along the way

Agency experience strongly preferred

Luxury/automotive advertising experience is a plus but not required

Proficient in Excel and MS Project

Understanding of smart sheets

Strong organizational skills

Solid analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Adept at working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines

Ability to work independently and in teams
