Job Purpose

 

The Spark44 Retouching team are responsible for delivering upon the Quality driven image manipulation and asset creation process, for all retouching projects across all the Spark44 inform communication materials.

You will be involved in all stages of the Image Creation Process (from pre-production (on-shoot) through to post-production (final flattening of files)) to ensure delivery of quality imagery to timing plans.

The role is technical, creative and administrative.

 

 

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

 

You will be working with Creative Heads to deliver the retouching requirements of JLR Direct and Agency clients.

Carrying out & fulfilling retouching briefs to the highest standard and specifications, whilst managing time within the agreed allowance. Delivering a quality product every time.

You are responsible for delivery of the imagery and will ensure the ‘Way of Working’ standard for imagery is met at each stage. The ‘Retouching Methodology’ document is the standard for how all Model year imagery is to be created at Spark44; a standard for quality – working with OPS planning.

Build the foundations for a robust and repeatable process.

Working with Retouching Manager & Head of Retouching to achieve daily image requirements, in-line with the relevant business priorities. Parallel-Processing retouching of assets where required.

Ensure all hours and versions are assigned to Nameplate Job Tracker document.

Ensure all materials are assigned to Finance Material Tracker document.

Collaborate with internal Spark teams and the external Agency partners to resolve issues and to ensure all images are delivered on time.

Assist and support Retouching team members as required - Act as a Technical advisor to junior staff.

Adhere to ‘Way of Working’ process in conjunction with the Creative, Retouching, Operations management teams.

Understand and be an owner of the ‘Embargoed Image Process’

Understanding that we are a worldwide organization that requires at times extra hours to be worked to achieve the required results – this can be interpreted as later lunches or staying late to complete an urgent set of images. Flexible working hours may be required. If weekend working is required, these days will be given back as days in Lieu.

Image Creation & Collaboration

 

Work in conjunction with Head of Retouching to create/prepare Laser/Epson and Digital outputs colour corrected and retouched to required standards.

Follow retouching brief and make all requested changes/corrections promptly and correctly.

Assign image codes and establish server locations for files – ensure correct naming conventions are used.          

Work within the Censhare system to ensure all images are assigned/filed correctly.

Review all briefs for potential issues with imagery – escalate accordingly. Collaborate to solve issues to resolve risks to delivery.

Ensure work is ready for client review based on schedules.

Be fully aware of project timelines/finance requirements and status.

Ensure image is signed off at all stages.

Work with Head of Retouching to ensure colour calibration settings are consistent across all output devices.

Work with Head of Retouching to introduce innovative ways of working into the department – new software/training, to increase knowledge and introduce alternate work streams within department.

Ensure that current approved and history of imagery is named and filed appropriately.

Work with Retouching Manager & Head of Retouching to be sure jobs are created to brief, on time and flag issues or requirements to keep a projects on track to ensure asset delivery.

 

 

Attributes & Skillset requirements

 

Ability to clearly communicate with internal customers & colleagues.

Knowledge of Spark44 Retouching processes (stated in the Spark44 ‘Way of Working’)

Proficient in Photoshop, working knowledge of full Adobe suite.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and helpful nature, pro-active can do attitude.

Strong organisational skills – drives efficiency.

Solid analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills – Solution focused.

Adapt at working effectively under pressure and meeting ‘ever-moving’ deadlines.

Ability to work independently and in teams and be flexible to requirements.

Agency Automotive Retouching experience strongly preferred.

Excellent attention to detail.

Good creative eye.
